Beautiful little setting and a really welcoming homely feel. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the high standards of cleanliness and comfort and it was toasty warm all ready for us to settle down in bed. Lovely little touches with lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate being provided. There were flavours to suit every taste bud! The hosts were super helpful and readily available to help out if needed and ready to top up supplies. The mini fridge and toaster were an excellent added touch! Our cottage was very cosy with a helpful amount of everything as we had an extended stay. It was also very peaceful and so easy to have our dog with us which was great. Nigel and his lovely wife made us feel very welcome but we also had privacy and were able to fully relax into our three week stay very easily. We have a young son who loved the games room and it really helped us to entertain him by having access to it whenever we wanted – fantastic to have this! Perfect place to stay if you’re going Bath and nearby areas (Frome, Longleat,etc…), a lovely spot with comfortable rooms and charming surroundings, calm, clean, easy to get to.
Hosts are very flexible and friendly, there’s good amenities in the room and the check in is without fuss whatsoever. Good price too especially when you see the local prices for similar places!

Nice village style houses and facilities. location out of the city and any village but not too far. Friendly staff and very clean everywhere inside and outside. Comfortable bed, bathroom with bathtub and toilet accessible from the door inside the bedroom. Nice view, you can see the garden trough the windows. You have TV, microwave, free WiFi, free parking, a small fridge, toaster and even kettle to make coffee and tea kindly provided by the staff. I was surprised to find a bottle of cold water and milk in the fridge.

We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage with our family of four, including two young children. The cottage was incredibly welcoming, with a warm and cosy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It was spacious and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kids had plenty of space to play and were kept happily occupied throughout our visit. We would highly recommend this cottage to any family looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

We booked Beeches Farmhouse for a family get together. It was a great hit from us all. Nigel was very welcoming & helpful. We re-gigged things to suit us as we had a disabled person, but all worked excellently. The surroundings were idyllic, very quiet & peaceful, all amenities were close by. The Grandchildren really enjoyed spending time in the play barn, with lots of things for them to play. Also the freedom they could enjoy playing football & cricket, hide & seek without us worrying whether they were safe. Nigel and Pauline made us feel extremely welcome. We had a large group and they arranged all of the rooms in the ways that suited our needs.
Rooms were clean and each had fresh flowers, facilities were great (including BBQ and Games Room) and with the weather being as good as it was, we were all able to take advantage of all the outside space.

I personally stayed in Pigwig. We loved the well appointed cottage and piggy decorations 🙂 The nightlights at night were great for making our way to the bathroom, good job. I brought torches, but you’d already provided these on the backs of all the bedroom doors 👏Our stay couldn’t have been any better! You thought of everything 👏 Thank you for the biscuits and milk left for a welcome cuppa on arrival 👍 (We had brought plenty of milk but I’m sure many guests don’t.) Plenty of toilet rolls ( I brought extra but not needed), lots of kitchen utensils and herbs and veg oil, silver foil, cling film. I left ours in bags 👍 I’d also brought dishcloths and tea towels but you provided those 👏 You even had BBQ utensils available – thank you. We loved the fresh flowers on the dining tables ☺️ And such a lovely choice of seating areas depending on what the sun was doing! Thanks for letting us move a few picnic tables (hope we returned them to their rightful spots). The Games Room was a bonus and enjoyed by many, thank you! Top marks for the play area – our granddaughter LOVED it! 👏 Brilliant having the motion lights coming on as you walked from the Cow Byres through the bushy tunnel towards the play area 👏 And excellent recycling facilities, you really have thought of everything! 👍 Nothing could have been better.Everyone loved their well appointed rooms – we have already started telling friends about Beeches! I know you were rounding up Blue, and Misty, at times but we loved having them joining in with us ☺️ such gorgeous dogs. It was very straightforward making my booking and the owners were happy to accommodate a large group with different needs. Milk and biscuits were available on arrival as was a warm welcome from our hosts. Beeches was such a fabulous place to stay, we were bowled over! Sleeping accommodation was very comfortable and there was everything we needed in the kitchens, and more. We loved meeting the resident dogs and our granddaughter was excited to see the chickens. The setting was perfect – not far to Bradford on Avon and the canal. An even closer walk to a nearby pub (can highly recommend The George) And we made use of the inbuilt BBQ. All ages enjoyed the well-equipped Games Room and the play area was a huge hit too. I highly recommend this venue for groups of any size.

Rooms
Our large family group stayed in a variety of the rooms & cottages available, something for everyone! Two of the cottages were able to be opened up and we had large dining in one and a large lounge area in the other. However, as the weather was glorious, much of the time we gathered outside at the numerous seating areas. After many years of holidaying in properties around the UK, these cottages were the best equipped EVER! The Owners have thought of everything 🙂 The play area and Games Room were a big hit with both the little and older children! Top marks.

Nigel is a very kind host, he gave us precious suggestions on how to move around the zone; his room was little but really cute and comfortable, with a big and comfortable bathroom. Even if it’s a room, you have the fridge and the microwave and all the stuff to prepare breakfast. The area Is beautiful and you can walk through the fields (you can reach Bradford on Avon by foot even if by car It takes less than five min). Bed was very comfortable, room has everything you need unless you don’t use microwave ovens, shower good, hosts lovely and very helpful. Location is rural so you need a car or taxi to get around. This is our 2nd stay here and we have no complaints.

Lovely owners rang to ensure I knew how to find them. They didn’t provide breakfast, which I’d overlooked, as it was a very last minute booking. But they kindly provided me with some delicious bread to toast, and butter and jam. Fresh milk in the fridge for cups of tea. Not those horrible little UHT milk pods. Real milk in bottles. It was much appreciated.

We are a family of 5 and we enjoyed greatly spending our Easter break there. The place is very cosy and comfortable, we had everything we needed, including a baby cot. Kids were very pleased to find chocolate eggs kindly left for them in the basket by the hosts. It was well heated, which was important for us staying there with the children. Nigel has been very kind to accommodate our request to shift our visit one day later, even though they usually don’t check-in on Saturdays. It really saved our trip, as we managed to do everything we planned. It is just 20 min drive to Longleat Safari Park, and around the corner from the nice little town (Bradford on Avon) that has a lot of very good restaurants. We are from South Africa and stayed here for three weeks. It was a very pleasant experience and as we had our children ( and grandchildren) sharing the accommodation ( and some of them also renting some of the rooms on the property), we can highly recommend this accommodation. Owners were always helpful with whatever we required. And the kid’s playroom was a big hit !

We absolutely loved our stay. Your location is a fantastic base for exploring so many interesting places. It’s hard to pick out just one thing we loved about the cottage, but I think it would have to be the decor/style of the place! Rosie referred to it as the Cow House!
I think the layout, provisions etc were incredibly well thought out, and whilst we didn’t do any cooking particularly, we could see there was everything we could have needed.
Rosie loved borrowing the cow teddy (she called him Moo) for our stay too. It’s touches like this that make you stand out, and we felt very welcome. The Games Room and play area were a real bonus. We didn’t spend much time there as we had long days out exploring the area, but it was lovely to have a go at playing pool, and there was plenty there for all ages.
We hope to be able to return sometime in the future – it’s a beautiful part of the country and there is so much to do that we couldn’t fit it all in!

We had an amazing stay, booked directly, just the day before. The rooms are beautifully clean and very thoughtfully stocked. The location was ideal, as we visited both Bath and Longleat. We felt immediately at home and very relaxed; Nigel, the proprietor was extremely helpful in ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We rented Cow Byre 1 and 2 Country Cottages which merged together to be a fantastic venue for the 9 of use – family and friends meeting up as a reunion. One cottage acted as the dining and cooking and the other as the lounge and relaxing / TV / screens. It has a good amount of space, is really clean, well provisioned and good facilities on site. Prior to arrival, we received an email outlining everything we needed to know from checking in to places to eat. On arrival, we were met by Nigel, the owner. We can not fault the welcome we received. He was very accommodating. He showed us to our lodge, and we were not disappointed at all. He even brought some fresh flowers and placed them on the table. The lodge had more than we were expecting. The kitchen was well equipped, and the rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed the outside area on the patio. The views were a real delight. We visited Bath by train and spent the last day in Bradford on Avon. Castle Inn is a beautiful pub with lots of friendly people. The country cottages were lovely with lovely views from the rear windows. Nigel was very quick to respond to my messages and allowed us to check in early as we had a family party to attend. The cleaning staff very friendly and even got us towels for our wet dog! Lovely fields to walk dog in the morning straight out of our front door. Only thing we could of done with was Instructions on heating and hot water but Nigel came and helped us with this anyway so very minor thing. We loved the beautiful surroundings, the country feel, and the relaxed vibe! We also really enjoyed the walk to the pub and the map and signpost to the field made this very easy. Was perfect for our short stay, and was a short drive into Trowbridge where my partner had a few days of work! The farm is in a lovely quiet location and the country feel was brilliant, we particularly enjoyed meeting the two beautiful doggos! The room was lovely, with lush wooden furniture, an impressive beam, and a hugee bed! There was a good smart TV and the tea, coffee and biscuit selection was brill! The catering equipment in the room was ideal for us and provided a good middle ground between full self-catering and having nothing! We also enjoyed the walk through the fields to the nearby pub! Beautiful farm stay, location was perfect to visit Stonehenge and Bath..you would need a car to get to Stonehenge but you can walk through the fields into town and get a train to Bath.. We stayed in one of the self catering cottages and it was lovely,it had everything that you need for a self catering holiday. It’s also close to shops and places like longleat safari park, bath, Bristol and Cardiff is not that for away too. We had a great week would definitely recommend and stay again. We had a lovely stay at the Milking Shed, the room was cosy for the four of us but we still had plenty of space. The surroundings were beautiful with a nice walk into the town and plenty of nature right on the doorstep. Our stay in Cow Byre Cottage was brilliant from start to finish! The children aptly named it the “cow house”! The cottage was clean. Everything we needed was available. Nigel was on hand to answer any questions. The games room and play area were welcomed facilitates to keep the children entertained while unpacking and packing! They actually didn’t want to leave and you’re very lucky that the two cow ‘teddy bears’ are still there! The children called them Daisy and Bonnie. The cottage was just lovely. We had a great stay!!! I stayed in the The Farmhouse Room, double Room for two nights. The rooms was enormous, comfortable, warm, quite and peaceful. The cottage is about 5 minutes drive from Bradford on Avon town, which is perfect location for visiting the area. After after a really long day hike in the area, and because of the great location, its calm and quite location, I had really good, uninterrupted nights sleep. I will definitely visit again if I am in the area.

Located 25-30 mins walk from Bradford on Avon railway station. Taxi costs around £6-7(£10 on a sunday) from station.
My 2 year old son very much enjoyed playing with the owner’s dogs.
Owner was friendly, he gave me some info on where I can store luggage near Town center after checkout.

The cottage (Cow Byre) was a comfortable log house decorated with nice Cow designs everywhere inside! The room had enough space for a family of 5 including 3 kids to stay comfortably. I booked Beeches for a weekend (Fri-sun) for a hen do and this place did not disappoint. From the very beginning of my booking the owner, Nigel, was attentive, friendly and very informative. We booked the two cottages (cow byre) and a couple of ensuite rooms as our party was large. The cottages were quaint and spacious. It had everything we needed for our stay to make it a hen party to remember. Nigel and Pauline were around during our visit and were able to respond quickly to simple requests (such as needing an extension cable!) | could not recommend staying at Beeches more. We were 3 best friends wanting a weekend away to visit Bath christmas market, but we couldn’t find anywhere to stay that wasn’t hundreds of pounds.
We found Beeches, and were able to book the family room as 3 single beds, which was perfect.
On arrival the barn looked lovely and welcoming, with twinkling lights.
The room was a perfect size, surprisingly spacious, and well equipped with fridge, kettle, microwave and toaster, as well as a lovely selection of coffees etc, and a bowl of fruit, chocolates and mince pies 🥰
The bathroom was a good size, with plenty of loo roll, and nice toiletries.
The location was perfect for getting a taxi into Bradford-on-Avon, to take the train to Bath, and Bradford-on-Avon itself looked lovely and festive.
If we’d been staying longer I would have liked to explore the area more, but it was a flying visit.
We did see the ponies, but they weren’t interested in saying hello 😁 unlike the dogs (although that might have been because of the half-eaten croissant in my hand 😄). Lynn | The Milking Shed | December 2022
Wonderful two night stay in the Milkinig Shed en-suite room at Beeches Farm House Cottages. The room was very clean with plenty of Tea/coffee to choose between. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Met the owners on our 1st evening who were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
